Camp-In

“Camp-In” was created in the summer of 2008. It is an extension of Camp Rainbow, serving children ages 6 to 13 whose illness or course of treatment necessitates that they be in the hospital during the week of the Babler Park-based camp.

“Camp-In” is held at 3 locations: Children’s Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Hospital, and the Pediatric Oncology office of Drs. Bergamini and Hanson. The goal of “Camp-In” is to provide a day-camp opportunity for the inpatient children who might otherwise be missing out on a week of “camping fun”.

“Camp-In” is a two-day program consisting of activities such as art, nature, music and games, and is held on the Oncology floor at each hospital.  Every participant receives a camp bag filled with goodies and memorabilia.

This program is run by our volunteer camp staff, parents, and selected hospital staff.  If siblings happen to be visiting, they are always welcome to attend.  In 2009 the program will be extended to the clinic as well as the Oncology floor of each hospital.
