The
Need
The need is real. Sadly, seriously ill children with cancer
or blood related disorders in our community cannot go
to ‘regular’ camp like their friends. Many
families with seriously ill children cannot afford to
send their children to camp. In our first 20 years, we
have proudly served the needs of 1752 seriously ill children.
Who Is The Camp Rainbow Foundation
The Camp Rainbow Foundation is an organization that is
composed totally of volunteers who are dedicated to providing
seriously ill children a camping experience that previously
had been unavailable to them in the Missouri/Illinois
area. The Camp Rainbow Foundation operates with a board
of trustees who ably support the organization. We are
a 501C organization.
The entire staff for Camp Rainbow are volunteers, and
include youth counselors and unit heads, professional
adult supervisors, child life specialists, pediatric oncology
nurses and physicians.
Our Goal
Who We Serve
We serve seriously ill children in the Greater Metropolitan
St. Louis area. Most of the campers come from St. Louis
Children’s Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Hospital and
the pediatric oncology office of Drs. Robert Bergamini
and Rob Hanson at St. John’s Hospital.
