We've been creating a fantastic, friendly environment for children dealing with a pediatric cancer or blood-related diseases for over 35 years. At our camps, campers and their families can take a breath and just have a fun in a less stressful situation, while interacting with others who are in the same situation.

Oncology Overnight Camp 

Who: Children, ages 6-13 years old, diagnosed with a cancer or blood-related disease and treated by one of the St. Louis children’s hospitals.

What: Since 1988, we have hosted a magical camp experience for children dealing with a pediatric cancer or blood-related disease diagnosis.  Campers can experience typical camp activities, have fun, and make friends.  

When: Typically held the second week of June. 

Where: Oncology Overnight Camp is held at Camp Sunnyhill located in Dittmer, MO.  

Cost: All Camp Rainbow camps are FREE to campers.

SIBS Overnight Camp 

Who: Children and teens, ages 7-17 years old, who have had or are currently dealing with a sibling's diagnosis of cancer or blood-related disorders.

What: Since 2018, we have hosted a magical camp experience for Super Important Brothers & Sisters (SIBS). SIBS campers can experience typical camp activities, have fun, and make friends.

When: Typically held the first week of June. 

Where: SIBS Overnight Camp is held at Camp Sunnyhill located in Dittmer, MO.  

Cost: All Camp Rainbow camps are FREE to campers.

Teen Camp 

Who: Teens, ages 14-18 years old, diagnosed with a cancer or blood-related disease and treated by one of the St. Louis children’s hospitals and their siblings. 

What: Camp Rainbow Teen Camp is a unique camp experience for teens to participate in that alternates annually between a traditional weekend-long, overnight camp, and a fun "Out and About" day-long adventure to explore activities in St. Louis. Teen campers gain opportunities to make friends, have fun, and forget their cancer diagnosis for the day or weekend.  

When: Typically held in the fall or early winter. 

Where: Teen Camp alternates between Camp Sunnyhill in Dittmer, MO, and St. Louis, MO, for our "Out and About" activities. 

Cost: All Camp Rainbow camps are FREE to campers.

Family Camp 

Who: Families dealing with the pediatric diagnosis of a cancer or blood-related disease of their child ages infant – 18 years old.  The child must be treated by one of the St. Louis children’s hospitals.  

What: Family Camp is a place for kids with cancer and their families to have fun and enjoy a camp experience.   

When: Typically held the third week of October.

Where: Family Camp is an urban camp held in St. Louis, MO. Family campers will stay in a local hotel.  

Cost: All Camp Rainbow camps are FREE to campers.

Caretaker and Me (Day Camp) 

Who: The Caretaker and Me Experience was created for campers and their parent or caretakers (no siblings) ages 4-6 years old. Campers are the oncology patient or the sibling of the oncology patient.

What: Campers, together with their parent, can spend the day rotating through our camp activities participating in a pre-planned day to meet our team and discover the joy of a Camp Rainbow session. The Parent and Me Day coincides with the drop-off day for SIBS Campers to make it easy for all.

When: Typically held the first week of June.

Where: Day Camp is held at Camp Sunnyhill in Dittmer, MO.

Cost: All Camp Rainbow camps are FREE to campers.

Teens-N-Twenty (TNT)

Who: Teens, ages 14-20 years old, diagnosed with a cancer or blood-related disease and treated by one of the St. Louis children’s hospitals.  

Teens, ages 14-20 years old, who have had or are currently dealing with a sibling’s diagnosis of cancer or other blood-related disorders. 

What: The TNT program provides social opportunities for our teen campers to remain connected throughout the year. 

When: Half and full day social events are held quarterly throughout the year. 

Where: Location varies, please watch our social media outlets for details on TNT events. 

Cost: All Camp Rainbow camps are FREE to campers.

Camp-In 

Who: Children of all ages who are in treatment or inpatient at the 3 area hospitals – St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, and Mercy Medical Center.  Camp-In is also perfect for the siblings present for treatment or inpatient stays.  

What: Camp Rainbow Camp-In was created to bring camp magic to the Oncology floor and treatment clinics at the three children hospitals.    

When: Held multiple times throughout the year. Please check with your child’s hospital team for more information. 

Where: Camp-In is held at the 3 area hospitals - St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, and Mercy Medical Center 

Cost: All Camp Rainbow camps are FREE to campers.
